I agree the ornaments were lightly used. I was intrigued by the hangers. The appear to be homemade which tells me metal might have been still scarce from the war. I like a good story and possibly these twelve were someone’s first purchase of Christmas ornaments. Otherwise the purchaser would have had hangers from pre-war years.
What’s cool about your ornaments is the multiples of two which indicates these were original and in that box. Noah’s Ark comes to mind; two blue, two green, two gold, two purple, two red, two silver. The caps are original.
The box is 1946, silver and gold come back in 1946, purple became a color in 1945, so I would date your ornaments likely to 1946.
